The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerbergannounced today a couple more news for the WhatsApp Businesswhich recently hit the mark of 200 million global users. The messenger himself, including, also shared a page which explains the additions in more detail.
The first resource is the possibility to buy clickable ads on Facebook and Instagram, which redirect the user to WhatsApp. The idea here is to help businesses that rely on the app to sell by giving them a chance to find new potential customers.
The main advantage of this new feature is that the business owner does not need to have an account on Facebook or Instagram to run an ad on these platforms. According to the messenger, just an email and a form of payment, and the whole process, as said, is carried out within WhatsApp Business itself.
In this way, anyone browsing one of these two social networks will be able to tap on one of these ads if they are interested in the product being displayed to send a message to the business, browse its catalog or even make a purchase. According to Meta, it will be possible to create ads “soon”.
The second novelty of the time are the Personalized Messages — which, as the name suggests, allow businesses to automatically send thoughtful messages to specific customers.
With this resource, it is possible, for example, to send a message wishing a person a happy birthday, a message with a discount coupon for new customers or a message announcing a year-end sale. Thus, the business owner saves time when contacting his customers.
It is possible to customize the message with people’s names and with labels such as “VIP customer” or “new customer”, as well as determine the day and time it will be triggered.
This feature, it’s worth noting, is optional and will work for a fee. Meta, however, will still reveal details regarding the price and when the novelty will actually be released.
