WhatsApp added the ability to create stickers from photos

WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and banned) released an update that introduced the ability to create stickers from user photos. The feature is currently only available for users of Apple devices running iOS 16.

The ability to create custom stickers from photos was introduced to the Photos app with the release of iOS 16 in June 2022, but WhatsApp did not initially support this feature. First, it was added to the beta version of the program, but now it is available to all users.

To create your own sticker in WhatsApp, you need to extract the necessary object from the photo and insert it into the chat: the messenger will automatically pick up the picture and add it to the user’s sticker collection. The new feature will be useful for those users who like to create custom stickers in separate applications.
