WhatsApp users may soon enjoy a new feature. The latter would recover deleted messages.
On WhatsApp, it is possible to delete messages within a conversation. On the other hand, impossible to make them reappear once deleted. A condition of no return that might soon change. “WhatsApp Beta Android update 2.22.18.13 brings the ability to recover messages mistakenly deleted when you tap “delete for me” instead of “delete for everyone”, ad WABetaInfo. Now, this function extends to iOS.
Concretely, when a user deletes a message using the “delete for me” option, he sees a status bar appear to inform him that the message has been deleted. Soon it will be possible for everyone to restore it by pressing “cancel”.
The latest iOS and Android beta versions of WhatsApp offer this restore option. For the moment, it is available for certain beta testers and should be generalized within a few weeks. “If the snack bar is not showing when you use “remove for me” and you have already installed the latest beta, that means your WhatsApp account is still not eligible to get the feature”, informs WABetaInfo. Note that this option is only available for messages “deleted for me”. Those “removed for all” will continue to disappear completely, at least for now. As a reminder, the deletion of a message posted in a private or group conversation is only possible during the hour following the sending.
