Military is a compulsory course that every student must go through with days of training with guns, ammo and knowledge of national security.

Ideal training environment
These days, the Center for National Defense and Security Education (Center) welcomes regarding 4,800 students of the 417th class from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the City Staff Apprentice and the Construction College, for two weeks boarding school.
Mr. Do Dai Thang, Director of the Center, said that the subject of national defense and security education is a specific subject that requires learners to eat, live, and practice with concentration according to the military regime and order.
Student dormitory
In the past, because the center’s facilities were not suitable for students to concentrate on, it was settled for out-of-school students (going back and forth every day), but through the tests, the superiors also suggested, reminders, lessons learned.
Therefore, from 2023 onwards, the Center will manage students’ accommodation, study and focus on military discipline. Students stay 100% until the end of their study period in the defense and security education course at the Center. But currently, because there are not enough dormitories for boarding students, the center implements the option of 50% of online learning time and 50% of face-to-face learning. With this option, students will be fully boarded for two weeks of practice.
Students are practicing dismantling bullets
According to Mr. Thang, the Center is borrowing capital to build two blocks of dormitories. According to the plan until September 2023, all students of the courses will stay for one month in accordance with regulations.
“The centralized accommodation will create favorable conditions to ensure the health and safety of the students during their study time at the Center. In addition, you can also participate in extracurricular activities, arts, sports, participate in collective activities, exchange and connect with friends.
In particular, you can experience the military lifestyle of a soldier who performs 11 modes in a day, 03 modes in a week. From there, understand the difficulties and hardships of the “Uncle Ho” soldier, to train himself to be more mature. Living usefully for society, appreciating the historical values and heroic traditions of the nation, studying hard to build and protect the Vietnamese Fatherland in the new situation,” Thang said.

With an area of 17.3 hectares, the Center currently has 25 classrooms with a capacity of 150 students/room, 34 practice grounds (each of which is named following the islands of the Truong Sa and Hoang Sa archipelagoes). including 14 covered training ground; Tactical field (3 defensive and 3 offensive) can serve as tactical training for 6 companies at the same time. In addition, the Center has equipped the MBT-03 shooting machine; M113 armored vehicle model and M41 tank… The center also has a series of playgrounds such as volleyball, basketball, football, tennis… for students to practice and relax following school hours.
