Many people think that the toilet is the dirtiest place in the house, but is that really true? To answer this question, a food safety expert at Clemson University, Paul Dawson, in cooperation with CNN, collected samples from 5 different homes, to find out where the most germs spread in these homes.

These places are the kitchen sink strainer, the kitchen countertop, the toilet seat, the bathroom sink faucet handle, and the entrance to the main door of the house.

Samples were taken and isolated in the laboratory, where the bacteria multiplied, as it appears in a video published by the network regarding the exciting experiment.

Surprisingly, the toilet seat turned out to be the “cleanest place” compared to the germ-infested kitchen.

The US Public Health Foundation advises using a bleach solution to wash the kitchen sink and strainer at least once a month, and changing the kitchen sponge regularly.

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, affiliated with the US Department of Health, says that if household disinfectants are not available, a bleach solution can be used to disinfect surfaces, which is an effective way to kill germs.
