This coming Sunday, June 25, we will have elections in the province of Córdoba. In addition to electing governor, vice, provincial and departmental legislators, and 194 localities will vote for their respective mayors and community leaders.
On the other hand, 35 cities in the interior have already decided how their local governments will continue, having agreed among the authorities on the next head of the city (single list).
Marta Vidal, electoral judge, and Ernesto Torres, secretary of the electoral court, explained the step-by-step procedure for voting and answered the most frequent questions for this Sunday’s elections.
What authorities are voted?
In the entire province of Córdoba the following will be voted:
Governor and Lieutenant Governor.
Single District legislators.
Departmental Legislator.

How do you vote? What is the BUS or Single Vote Ballot?
Voting is done through a Single Suffrage Ballot printed on paper, except in the towns of La Falda, Marcos Juárez, Cosquín and Carlos Paz, where voting is electronic. The Single Ballot (BUS) is a printed document that includes the entire electoral offer and allows voting for the complete list or individually choosing candidates in different categories.
In case of voting for the complete list, the box with the black background must be checked. But if you want to select the sections, changing the forces from one party to another, which is known as “cutting ballot”, you must mark one box per column. Be careful, if you vote more than once per column, the vote is cancelled. It should be only one per “leg”.
What is the BUE or Boleta Úica electronica?
This is the same single ballot, but instead of being in a physical paper format, it will be digital and will need to be used on a computer screen. In a tactile way you can vote or select the candidates. Here we leave a video so you can see what are the steps to follow.

Where and when are polling places reported?
The polling places (establishment and table number) can be consulted on the Córdoba Justice website or through the Córdoba 2023 Electoral Register App.

Who can vote? Can foreigners vote?
Only and exclusively those who appear on the electoral roll (Argentines) or on the list of foreign voters can vote.
The minimum age required is 16 years. It is optional for those under 18 and for people over 70.

Changes in the electoral roll
The electoral roll has a cutoff in January of each year, so changes made following that date will not be reflected. It is important to make up-to-date queries to the register.
Change of polling place
Changes in polling places may be due to population growth or redistribution of votes. It is advisable to consult the padrón to know the updated polling place.
What document is valid to vote?
It is valid to vote the document that appears in the electoral register or one subsequent to it, as long as it is the last issued copy (never a version prior to the one that appears in the electoral roll or that appears crossed out in red ink).

For their part, foreign voters will prove their identity by presenting the document with which they are registered in the Provincial Registry of Foreign Voters.
What if I’m not going to vote?
It will be necessary to justify the absence, otherwise, there will be no economic fine but there will be obstacles to carry out future procedures. The term is 60 days. From the Electoral Justice they indicated that following the elections they will announce the way to start this process.

The elections begin at 8 a.m. and close at 6 p.m. However, those who have already entered the schools will be able to continue doing so following 6 p.m.
Dark room
Voting is individual, but people with motor or visual disabilities can be assisted by someone they trust. In the case of entering with a child, it is allowed, but the cell phone must be left outside the classroom.
Events and Electoral Close
According to the electoral law, crowded events are prohibited 48 hours before the electoral process. No alcoholic beverages can be extended during that period.
Results
The times of the first results may vary according to the scrutiny of the table. Some tables are more agile than others, and the provisional scrutiny system called Turing can speed up and make the process transparent.
