What would Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury look like today? An artist and an AI prove it

There are celebrities of all kinds that we remember in Spain with great affection for their achievements. However, most of us remember for their untimely deaths. One of the most famous examples is that of Michael Jackson, who died at the age of 50, in 2009. A digital artist has managed to recreate it using artificial intelligence what Jackson would look like if he were still alive today (and without operating).

Not just Jackson, but many more. Your Instagram profile it’s full of celebrities reimagining themselves in a current context. We have examples like Diana of Walesdied in 1997 at the age of 36 or actor paul walkerfamous for the movie saga Fast and the Furious (At full throttle in Spain) who lost his life in a tragic accident in 2013, at the age of 40.

In his latest digital project, called As if nothing happened… (“As if nothing had happened in Spanish”), artist Alper Yesiltas from Turkey brings celebrities who lost their lives rather prematurely back to life, reimagining them today, with results that are both heart-warming and blood-chilling.

Yesiltas does not specify the exact steps of their creation, although he does explain how he used a combination of various apps and tools to recreate these celebrities. The idea is simple: answer the question “what would people look like photorealistically if some big events hadn’t happened to them.”

For 19 years, the Turkish lawyer and photographer has been collecting and taking photographs for all kinds of exhibitions. The results from him are absolutely brilliant, making these photographs look like the real thing. Something that, as Yesiltas himself explains in Bored PandaIt is the most difficult part of the project. “The moment I like the most is when I think the image in front of me looks realistic, as if it had been taken by a photographer.”
