Juan Pablo Medina will not compete for a medal alongside the Mexican athletes in the delegation participating in the Paralympic Games. Instead, he will attend as an ambassador for a brand sponsoring the sporting event.

The famous man is sent to the ‘City of Light’ thanks to the Otto Bock company, dedicated mainly to the creation of prosthetics for athletes.

It was Triana Casados, the actor’s representative, who shared the news on her social networks with an emotional message dedicated to the cast member of the series La Casa de las Flores.

“Once again, like two years ago, we lived extraordinary days with extraordinary people and learned one more step. We passed the Running Clinic, but now we are going to the Paralympic Games to represent Otto Bock Latin America. Congratulations Juan Pablo Medina, there will never be a better representative in Paris!” wrote the actor’s manager.

Medina also thanked the team for considering him for the summer sports competition with a message on his personal Instagram account.

“Thank you for allowing me to live this great experience and meet such beautiful people,” she posted last Friday, August 9.

The Paris 2024 Paralympic Games begin next Wednesday, August 28, the opening day.

Why did Juan Carlos Medina lose his leg?

Juan Carlos Medina told TV producer Óscar Uriel about the symptoms he had before being admitted to the hospital, such as severe abdominal pain and vomiting.

“The time came when I was having a really bad time, to the point of telling the producers ‘I need to go to the hospital’. When I arrived, they thought it was food poisoning. It was three or four days that I hardly remember anything,” she told Óscar Uriel, in 2021, on the Hoy program.

It turned out that he had a blood clot in one of his arteries and the doctors’ option was to try to save his right leg, but with the possibility of amputating it.

“I decided to live. I was more afraid of not waking up than of waking up without a leg. I am very lucky, I made the decision to amputate. The only thing I had in mind was to get through this and not be defeated,” he told GQ magazine in an interview in 2022.
