The road leading from the city of Palanga to the residential area of ​​Kunigiškiä welcomes the residents and guests of the resort with a significant renewal. The sustainable urban and infrastructure development company “YIT Lietuva” has completed the repair of the road leading to this area.

After the company completed the reconstruction work, it became more comfortable and safer for drivers to drive on the road. During maintenance of the road section in the section from 2.6 to 6.6 kilometers, the old asphalt surface was milled and a new asphalt concrete surface was laid. In the reconstructed section, deceleration and acceleration lanes, horizontal road markings, bus stops and intersections have been updated. It is expected that these changes will not only increase the comfort of movement on the road, but will also have a direct impact on the reduction of accidents.

“Improving Lithuania’s coastal transport infrastructure is one of the country’s priority goals. By developing opportunities for safer and more convenient movement, we simultaneously create a more sustainable and attractive image of Lithuania for both our residents and guests from abroad. This year, we are carrying out several transport infrastructure renewal projects on the coast. These are both roads and bicycle and pedestrian paths.

At the beginning of spring, the works accelerated in the Curonian Spit, where the company “YIT Lietuva” is reconstructing the road and installing a bicycle path. In total, 15.6 km of the main path and 5.7 km of the paths leading from Preila and Pervalka will be repaired in the last stages of the reconstruction of the Smiltynė-Nida bicycle and pedestrian path”, says Kęstutis Vanagas, the head of the YIT Lietuva company.

Currently, “YIT Lietuva” is continuing the reconstruction works of 22 kilometers of the streets of the capital, reconstructing the Kazbejų bridge over Vokė on the outskirts of Vilnius, which is included in the list of cultural heritage. It also carries out repairs on as many as 7 road sections in Western Lithuania, maintains a section on the Pirčiupiai-Jašiūnai road, carries out capital repairs and installs a pedestrian and bicycle path on the Šiauliai-Palanga road, in the section from 137.09 to 141.79 km. It also works on a 5 km section of the Kaunas–Jurbarkas–Klaipėda road (222-227 km). On this road, the company is also repairing the section from 191.68 to 195.4 km.
