What will change on WhatsApp in November

The messaging app continues to evolve. Several new features are expected in the coming weeks.

Groups of up to 1024 participants

WhatsApp continues to evolve its groups. If at the start, it was not possible to have more than 256 participants in a group, it was already possible for a few months to increase these figures to 512 participants. The number is expected to climb further to reach 1024 participants by the end of November. Some lucky ones have already received the update. Currently being tested in beta, the feature will roll out in the coming weeks.

An introductory word with the documents sent

Another small novelty spotted by some users: the possibility of adding a short introductory word with documents sent. Until now, it was not possible to send a message with a document shared with a contact. At least not a message related to the document. WhatsApp added this feature, most likely to reassure users regarding sending attachments. Files sent via WhatsApp are still widely used to infect or hack an account. The fact of being able to attach a word to it should make it possible to authenticate the sending of an attachment, in a certain way, or at least to reassure the most anxious users.

Polls

The WABetainfo site has unveiled a first visual of the function.

Good news also for users who are part of groups. Polls should be activated in the coming weeks.

Each survey can have a title (or question) and integrate up to 12 proposals. The function is quite basic, but it nevertheless allows you to vote for several elements and it is possible to view who voted for what.
