WhatsApp continues its update project. Here are the few new features that should land on the application during the month of July.
screen sharing
Screen sharing is one of the most anticipated new features on WhatsApp. As surprising as it may seem, the application is also behind on this point, compared to its competitors. However, things should change soon as the feature is currently in the testing phase on the beta version of the service. And it has been for several weeks now.
According to the revelations of WABetaInfo, screen sharing should manifest as a new icon appearing during calls. With a warning message, indicating that WhatsApp is accessing all the data displayed on the screen, users will be able to share their screen in real time.
Video messages
Sometimes late, sometimes early. WhatsApp often dances from one foot to the other when it comes to innovation. In this case, the courier takes the lead and prepares a new form of communication. After text messages and audio messages, here comes the time of video messages.
Exactly, we were telling you about it a few days ago. Despite the already existing possibility of sharing photos and videos, the developers of WhatsApp want to push the concept further. With this new feature, users will therefore have 60 seconds to record their message. A welcome limit to limit lengthy messages.
Choose the quality of media files
The reduction in quality of media files sent via is one of the great frustrations of users of the service. As a reminder, the files are compressed for the sake of speed and use of data. This is appreciable, but we would appreciate it just as much if WhatsApp leaves the choice to its users.
However, it seems that the service is about to evolve in the right direction. Indeed, the developers are currently testing a new feature on the beta version of the application. In summary, this will allow us to choose the resolution of the files. Standard, for WhatsApp’s default quality, or HD, for minimal compression. Less flashy than the other two, this update is however just as significant.
