What will change for Proximus, Voo and Telenet customers in July

More 5G, connected mailboxes, ultra-fast internet from Voo in Brussels… Here is what the operators are planning for the month of July.

A 5G network to close the gaps in 4G at Proximus

From 1 July, Mobile Flex subscriptions from Proximus will change their name and become Mobile Flex S subscriptions. They will also have access to the operator’s 5G network. This will be used to fill holes in the operator’s 4G network. So don’t expect better speeds. Surfing speed will be around 100 Mbps on this network.

Flex S customers will be able to take advantage of 5G in places where there is outdated 4G infrastructure.

Connected mailboxes

Telenet has launched a service connected mailboxes. Concretely, he “it is a closed box the size of two stacked crates, to be placed in front of your front door”explains the communiqué. The delivery person can open it even if the recipient is not there, and the recipient can pick up their package later using a code.

The box can contain parcels with maximum dimensions of 55 x 35 x 39 cm. To ensure the safety of what it contains, it is fixed to the facade or in the ground and is made of steel. The box with an electric cable costs 170 euros and the one with a battery 190 euros. Note that only the operator’s customers in Flanders, Brussels and the Botte du Hainaut have access to these boxes.

Voo’s ultra-fast internet is available in Brussels

The Gigaboost offer is now available in the six Brussels municipalities where the operator is present. Namely Auderghem, Evere, Ixelles, Uccle, Saint-Gilles and Woluwe-Saint-Pierre. The customers concerned can benefit from it in exchange for an additional 5 euros. The main network is a fiber network, but connections to homes are made with coaxial cable.

The Gigaboost offer increases theoretical speeds from 400 Mbps to 1000 Mbps, and uploads up to 40 Mbps.
