That said, the clinic will not materialize this project itself. It has neither the skills nor the financial means. What it imagines today, in consultation with the City and the Walloon administration, is a philosophy, the main lines of what the site might become in the future.
“When we come with the permit application for the new hospital, we will be able to show that we have seriously thought regarding the possibility of conversion, continues Philippe Pierre. If the City and the Region agree on what we propose, we can then open a call for tenders for promoters who will be inspired by the main guidelines and make it their job to design something concrete. And that is for 2025 or 2026, that is to say roughly in the wake of the start of work on the new hospital in Wavre.
On the lookout since the announcement of the move, a dozen serious promoters have already come forward. These expressions of interest reassure the clinic’s managers. They are obviously counting on the money from the resale of the Ottignies site to finance part of the future installations in Wavre.
