The European country Finland has been named the happiest country in the world for the 7th year in a row, while Pakistan has maintained its position of last year.
On the occasion of the International Day of Happiness, a list of the happiest countries in the world was released with the support of the United Nations. In this list, Pakistan is at the 108th position out of 143 countries.
The same number came to Pakistan last year too, so apparently 2023 proved to be a year during which economic, political and other crises did not disappoint the Pakistani people but did not let them be happy either.
Similarly, India was also ranked 126th out of 143 countries like last year, meaning Pakistanis are ahead of Indian citizens in this regard.
This year’s report also ranks countries by age group for the first time, and the bad news is that in some parts of the world, a decline in the sense of happiness among young people was discovered.
Data from a global survey of people from over 140 countries from 2021 to 2023 was analyzed to prepare this list.
Factors such as per capita income, life expectancy, social support, freedom, generosity and corruption were taken into account to rank the countries.

In all these cases, Finland got the highest score and took the number one position for the 7th year in a row, while Denmark and Iceland remained in second and third place.
This year, Sweden took the fourth position, which was sixth last year, followed by Israel 5th, Netherlands 6th, Norway 7th, Luxembourg 8th, Switzerland 9th and Australia 10th.
The title of the happiest Muslim country in the world went to Kuwait, which ranked 13th overall and first in the Middle East.
New Zealand, Costa Rica, Kuwait, Austria, Canada, Belgium, Ireland, Czech Republic, Lithuania and the United Kingdom were ranked as the 11th to 20th happiest countries, respectively.
Similarly, the title of the happiest country in Asia went to Singapore, which ranked 30th.
America dropped out of the top 20 after a long time and came in at number 23.
In contrast, the unhappiest country in the world was Afghanistan, which was ranked 143rd, followed by Lebanon at 142nd, Lesotho at 141st, Sierra Leone at 140th, and Congo at 5th at 139th. It was declared as an unhappy country.
