Previously installed versions of Windows 8.1 will continue to work following Microsoft discontinues their support. This was stated by experts interviewed by RIA Novosti.
At the same time, experts indicate that in the future users may encounter problems in this area.
Earlier Monday, Microsoft announced that it would stop supporting the Windows 8.1 operating system on January 10, and technical assistance and software updates would not be provided.
“Installed versions of Windows 8.1 will work, there will be no changes with them. It’s just that a person who uses this version of the system will not be able to receive official support. Some updates will come out in terms of security, critical vulnerabilities. They are coming out, but it’s better to upgrade to newer versions”, – recommended by a leading analyst at Mobile Research Group Eldar Murtazin.
As MForum Analytics analyst predicts Alexey Boyko, the version without updates will be able to work “indefinitely, but over time, problems may grow when using this OS, in particular, problems may arise when entering certain sites.”
