What Todor would say to the new President

In recent elections, those who are “ once morest” are more likely to win than those who are “for”.

A column by Todor Ovtcharov

Last week there were elections in Italy, this week there are elections in Bulgaria and next week there will be presidential elections in Austria. In Italy, the extreme right candidate won. That wasn’t a big surprise anymore. Because those who speak populist always win. Lately it’s always those who are ” once morest” who win and not those who are “for”. Voters look to candidates for a reflection of their fears, not their hopes. Everyone is once morest inflation, once morest inflation, once morest instability. How to stop inflation and bring stability is not said. The main thing is that we are all once morest it.

With an accent there is every week too as a podcast.

In Bulgaria, in the last elections, a party got into parliament just because it was once morest masks and Covid measures. All opponents of vaccination voted for her. Their deputies demonstratively did not wear masks and voted once morest vaccinations. After that, it turned out that they were all vaccinated.

Now the same party – “Rebirth” – is running a clearly anti-democratic and pro-Russian election campaign and is expected to double its result. In your rhetoric, you are very similar to the election winner from Italy. They are also once morest “foreigners” and anyone who is different. Do you remember the photos of Putin hugging Berlusconi? To the Front National funded by Russian banks? Of Brexit? To Trump? To Schroeder? To the FPÖ minister who bowed to Putin?

Every time I get off the subway, I get a pen from the supporters of a different presidential candidate. I already have the entire collection. I would like to hand it over to the winner and tell him: “Be careful what you sign with it, otherwise I will cross you out in the next elections!” But actually I’m not allowed to vote in Austria. But this is another story.
