Summer is coming to an end and families, who mostly chose to spend their holidays at the seaside or in the mountains, are returning to the city. This is why traffic with a red dot is expected today. This weekend is marked by the end of holidays and the return home for the reopening of most work activities. On the Anas network, queues are expected to increase constantly for the movements of travellers heading towards the large cities of Central and Northern Italy. Viabilità Italia has announced a red dot starting from Friday afternoon and, in particular, for the entire day of today, Sunday 25 August.

Travel to large urban centers across Italy is increasing significantly from holiday resorts, seaside resorts in the south and mountain resorts in the north and from state borders. To allow traffic to flow freely, Viabilità Italia reminds that Anas (Gruppo FS Italiane) has increased the commitment of its staff across the country and has limited the presence of construction sites until September 3: 906 construction sites have been suspended, 70% of the active ones (1278). A significant flow of traffic is also expected near urban centers, in a northerly direction, especially starting from late Sunday afternoon, coinciding with weekend returns. The ban on heavy vehicle transit is in force from 7 am to 10 pm.

Anas has a presence on the road of approximately 2,500 resources in rotation, consisting of technical and operational staff, in addition to the staff of the Territorial Operations Rooms and the National Situation Room who ensure real-time traffic monitoring 24 hours a day. In the north, the RA10 “Torino Caselle” motorway junctions in Piedmont, RA13 and RA14 in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the SS36 “del Lago di Como e dello Spluga” in Lombardy, the SS45 “di Val Trebbia” in Liguria, the SS26 “della Valle D’Aosta”, the SS309 “Romea” between Emilia Romagna and Veneto and the SS 51 “di Alemagna” in Veneto will be carefully monitored, especially in the afternoon hours, where the usual traffic jams of those returning from summer holidays may occur.
