A few years ago, Apple made it possible for you to share the internet your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) with other devices.
This allows you to use the network even on a device that doesn’t currently have an active connection — such as a Mac, an iPad without a cellular network, or any other device that has a Wi-Fi chip. It’s the call Personal Access (Personal Hotspot).
Despite being quite useful for certain times, things may not always work the way they should. Therefore, we have separated in this article how you can solve the main problems of this feature.
Check out! ????
- On the device you are using to activate Personal Hotspot (iPhone or iPad with cellular network), make sure “Allow Access to Others” is turned on. To do this, open Settings and tap “Personal Hotspot”.
- If you are using an iPhone 12 or later, an 11″ iPad Pro (3rd generation or later), a 12.9″ iPad Pro (5th generation or later), or an iPad mini (6th generation), enable the Personal Hotspot, the “Maximize Compatibility” option. After that, connect the device once more.
- Keep the Personal Hotspot screen open until the other device connects to Wi-Fi.
- Turn the cellular network off and on once more.
- Make sure your data plan is up and running.
- Restart the iPhone/iPad.
If you are facing problems on the device that you want to connect using Personal Hotspot on your iPhone/iPad, some other tips may help:
- Turn Wi-Fi off in settings and turn it back on.
- Check the list of Wi-Fi connections that you are trying to connect to the correct network. If an incorrect passcode prompt appears, double-check the passcode on the iPhone/iPad.
If, following that, you are still having problems activating your iPhone or iPad, you can contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider, schedule an appointment at an Apple Store or contact us at 0800-761-0880, from the site or through the Apple Support app.
