What to do if notifications don’t reach Apple Watch

In addition to health-oriented features, another very useful function of smartwatches such as Apple Watch is the possibility to check the Notifications as soon as they arrive, without even having to take your cell phone out of your pocket.

However, if you are experiencing problems with the arrival of these notifications on your Apple watch, we have separated some tips that can help resolve this.

Let’s go?! ⌚️

  • Keep in mind that when your Apple Watch is off your wrist and locked, notifications will only be sent to your iPhone.
  • Make sure the app you’re having trouble with is set to send notifications to your Apple Watch. To do this, open the Watch app on your iPhone and tap on “Notifications”. Finally, check if it is activated in the list.
  • Make sure your Apple Watch is connected and able to communicate with your iPhone or the internet. To see this at a glance, swipe up from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center. Then check that the green phone symbol appears at the top, that the Wi-Fi symbol is blue, or that the cellular network symbol (on supported models and when iPhone is not nearby) is green.
  • Check, still in Control Center, that the Apple Watch is not in Airplane mode.
  • Make sure app notifications are enabled on your iPhone by going to Settings » Notifications.
  • Restart iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • Make sure your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated to the latest versions of iOS and watchOS.
  • Unpair and re-pair your Apple Watch to your iPhone using the Watch app — don’t worry, when you unpair, your watch is backed up once more on your iPhone.

What if nothing works?

If you’re still experiencing issues with notifications coming in, contact Apple support so that the company can investigate the situation.

You can do this by calling 0800-761-0880, the website or the Apple Support app. If you live in Rio de Janeiro or São Paulo, you can also make an appointment at one of the two Apple Stores located in Brazil.
