Adriana Ruano Oliva made history in the early hours of July 31 when she completed her qualification for the final of the sport shooting (trap) at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The Guatemalan achieved a score of 122 plates knocked down out of a total of 125 thus ensuring his presence in the fight for Olympic medals.

This event comes just one day after Jean Pierre Brol was crowned in Paris with one of the best sporting performances in Guatemala by winning a bronze medal in the men’s Olympic trap event.

Now Adriana Ruano will have the possibility of joining Jean Pierre Brol and Érick Barrondo as the country’s only Olympic medalists.

The medal final in Paris 2024 shooting is set to begin at 7.30 am (Guatemala) at the Chaterauroux Shooting Centre.

Although there was no live broadcast of the qualifying round, the final will be broadcast live on television and will be available on the official YouTube channel responsible for the audiovisual distribution of the Olympic Games.

This channel can be found here.

The final will consist of two rounds of 25 shots. The shooter with the fewest hits at the end of the first round is eliminated. Then, series of 5 shots will be carried out and the athlete who misses the most in each series will retire.
