The U20 National Team remains alive in the pre-World Cup that is being played in Mexico, with headquarters in the city of Irapuato. This is thanks to the victory of Canada over El Salvador (2-1), so it has a great chance of advancing to the next round.
The Bicolor, led by the Mexican coach Marvin Cabrera has two consecutive losses; against Panama (3-0) and the host Mexico (2-1).
The path had become complicated for the Guatemalan team, as it was one foot out of the competition with one match remaining in the group stage.
Guatemala came back to life, Thanks to the Canadians who defeated the Salvadorans. It was the miracle our team needed to avoid being officially eliminated.
What you need
The Guatemalan team is obliged to beat the Haitians, But it’s not just about winning, you also have to do it at least by two goals.
This because El Salvador, which is in Group B, has three points and a negative difference of -2. While Guatemala has no points and is -4 in its differential.
Therefore, The Bicolor, at the time of winning, would equal the Salvadorans in points and by doing so by a landslide, they would improve their goal differential and that would classify them as the best third-place team and they would face the United States in the quarterfinals, the same one that grants the ticket to the Chile 2025 World Cup.
The game will be played at the Sergio del León Chávez stadium in the city of Irapuato starting at 5 p.m.
