What the letter from Joaquín Sperani's parents says

The parents of Joaquín Sperani, the 14-year-old teenager beaten to death in the Cordoba city of Laboulaye, launched harsh criticism of the investigation by showing their disagreement with the performance of the police and judicial authorities.

“From the first moment we reported his disappearance, no public body, as well as no institution in our city, came to our door to offer us their support or to collaborate with his search,” they said at the beginning of a letter signed in their own handwriting.

“We hold them responsible for not activating any alerts, neither from the mayor’s office nor from the Ipem 278 Malvinas Argentinas school where Joaquín attended,” added the parents of the boy found dead in an abandoned house in the southern city of the province.

In the letter they were “totally dissatisfied with the investigation carried out by the commissioner (Enrique) Carreras and by the prosecutor Walter Guzmán.”

They also demanded that the national deputies “advance the projects presented in the chamber to seriously debate the age of imputability of minors and that, if approved, bear the name Joaquín Law” in memory of their son.

In another part of the letter published a few days ago, they asked the residents close to the scene of the event that “if they have security cameras, they should provide them to the courts and to citizens who have any information that is of interest to the cause to report it to the telephones 3385-597392 and 3385-408409″.

The family lawyer, Raúl Frencia, who asked to become a plaintiff, reported that he could not have access to the file since the summary secrecy still governs.
