European governments may regret supporting farmers
For four days, farmers blocked key roads in the country for several hours while their representatives negotiated with the authorities. The next meeting will be on Sunday, when the text of the new agreement will be refined and it will be officially signed on Monday.
The Cabinet proposes that only large farmers prove losses
For now, it is clear that the smallest producers, those with holdings of up to 300 hectares, will not have to prove that they were at a loss in order to receive financial assistance now. “For the bigger ones, what remains is what we set as a requirement last time – through a simplified statement of expenses and income, they can prove that they are at a loss in order to receive the appropriate support,” explained the prime minister.
