The National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD) and the Specialized Airport Security Corps, coordinated by members of the Public Ministry, seized several small sheets of cocainewhich pretended to be the batteries of three cell phones, in one of the deposits of the International Airport of the Americas JFPG.
The anti-narcotics and military agents stationed at the terminal were checking in the cargo area when a canine unit alerted to foreign substances in one of the packages that would be taken to Miami through an international shipment.
After opening the package in the presence of a prosecutor, three cell phones were found inside, each containing a small sheet of cocainewhich had an approximate weight of 130 grams.
According to the manifest, the cell phones were sent from a residence on Avenida Independencia, National District, and would be received by a Dominican residing on Wester Avenue in the Bronx, New York.
