What steps should I take if I am unable to complete the online training as a board member?

• Training as a board member is mandatory and will be available until July 27

Several organizations that promote voting in Venezuela have reported problems in the National Electoral Council’s (CNE) training platform for polling station members who will carry out duties in the presidential elections called for Sunday, July 28.

People who have been selected as board members must take an online course and, upon completion, they will be authorized to print their credentials in order to fulfill their responsibilities.

The training began on June 28 and will run until July 27, the day before the presidential election.

Those who have difficulty accessing the CNE website must go to municipal training centers to complete the course and obtain the credential.

Penalties for voters who do not attend the polling station

The Lopre establishes sanctions for citizens who do not fulfill their duty as members of the table, these were established for the regional elections of 2021:
-A fine of between 15 and 50 Tax Units (UT), which currently have a value of 9 bolivars.
The fine is therefore equivalent to a payment ranging from 135 to 450 bolivars or 5 to 16 dollars, according to the Central Bank of Venezuela’s rate on Monday, July 1.

-Proportional arrest, at the rate of one day per Tax Unit.
