What should I do if I get error 720 when connecting to a remote computer in Windows?
If on a Windows computer you use a connection to a remote computer using a local network or via the Internet, sooner or later you may encounter error 720. The description of the error will tell you that the connection cannot be established and that a change in se requires network configuration. What causes the appearance of such an error and how to get rid of this problem, we will describe in this article.
Why does error 720 occur?
To connect to remote computers over a local network or over the Internet, special PPP control protocols are used. In the event that your settings turn out to be incorrect or protocols were changed, connection attempts will be aborted and the user will see error 720.
Very often, this problem occurs following uninstalling Avast! During the removal process, the settings of the same protocols are affected, and to ensure system security, remote access is completely blocked.

- Restart the PC so that the system creates the deleted partitions once more, assigning them the default values.
- After opening all connections from the Windows Control Panel, select the local area connection and open its properties using the context menu.
- In the small system window, find the components section and select Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
- Click the Install button.
- Select the type of network component Protocol and click Add.
- Select Install from disk.
- Specify the path C:Windowsinfnettcpip.inf and confirm your entry.
- In the list of suggested protocols, also look for Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click OK.
- Reboot the system and try to connect once more.
