Treatment for COVID-19 is divided into 4 groups.
1. Patients who do not have symptoms or are well. (Asymptomatic COVID-19) No antiviral drugs. May consider giving Andrographis paniculata at the discretion of the physician
2. Patients with mild symptoms no pneumonia No risk factors for severe disease/comorbid disease and normal lung imaging (Symptomatic COVID-19 without pneumonia and no risk factors for severe disease) may be considered that favipiravir should be initiated as soon as possible. at the discretion of the physician
3. Patients with mild symptoms Patients with no risk factors but with mild to moderate pneumonia do not need oxygen.
Risk factors for severe disease include:
- over 60 years old
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) (GOLD grade 2 or higher), including other chronic lung diseases
- Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) (stage 3 and above)
- Cardiovascular disease (NYHA functional class 2 or higher, including congenital heart disease
