Believers remember the importance of repentance and spiritual purification, which was preached by John the Baptist.

August 29 is celebrated in Ukraine Day of remembrance of defenders. This memorial day was established by the decree of the President of Ukraine on August 23, 2019. The date was not chosen by chance – it coincides with the tragic events of the Ilovai operation in 2014, when the Ukrainian army suffered significant losses. The symbol of this day is a sunflower flower, as many Ukrainian soldiers died in fields with sunflowers during the exit from the Ilovai Cauldron. On this day, various commemorative events are held throughout the country: laying flowers at monuments, moments of silence, and restrictions on entertainment activities. This day is an important reminder of the heroism and self-sacrifice of Ukrainian defenders who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of Ukraine.
