The world is going digital. And health insurance is no exception.
This Wednesday, the CNILthe organization that acts for the protection of personal data, issued a favorable opinion on the generalization of the Carte Vitale by 2025.
Experimented since 2019, generalized to the whole territory since last January, the “Vital e-cards” will be offered to all social security by December 31, 2025.
Application
A dematerialized card which will be available via the “Vitale card” application. “It will allow a complete dematerialization of requests for reimbursement of health expenses: anyone will be able, thanks to this application, to consult their rights, download the documents necessary for their care and follow their reimbursements”, specifies the CNIL.
To obtain it, you must meet two conditions: “be attached to a social security organization” et “download the Vitale card application on your smartphone”. “People will be able to request support from their local fund for the installation of this application”.
Note that each health insurance fund will decide on its own availability schedule. Finally, this does not mean the end of the physical Vitale card, which will always be valid.
