Since the energy crisis became noticeable, I consciously save energy in my thoughts for my fifth and youngest, five-year-old granddaughter, so that she too can lead as full a life as possible. But for a long time I’ve been wondering how that compares to car races in Salzburg and elsewhere? Aren’t huge amounts of CO₂ being blown into the air? And for what? For indirect profitability? Does that count for more than all of our futures? Of what use are our individual cost-cutting measures if, on a large scale, CO₂ continues to be blown into the air without limit or ruthlessness?
