Mortada Mansour, president of Zamalek Club, stressed that what Mahmoud Al-Khatib, president of Al-Ahly Club, wrote regarding the issuance of a court ruling to imprison him will not pass.
Mansour indicated in a video clip he posted on YouTube: “Mahmoud Al-Khatib published on the official Al-Ahly club page news that he had obtained a court ruling to imprison me, and this matter will not pass.”
He continued, “Does Al-Khatib want to ignite strife between the fans of Al-Ahly and Zamalek? What he did will not pass, because the Egyptian state has institutions, and it will not agree to what is happening and what ignites the strife between the fans of the two poles of Egyptian football.”
Al-Ahly club had published on its website and accounts on social media platforms a news stating that Mansour was imprisoned by a court ruling in a lawsuit brought by the head of the Red Castle.
And the news published by Al-Ahly said that the economic court headed by Sherif Al-Baili had sentenced Mortada Mansour, president of the Zamalek club, to two years in the two cases brought by Mahmoud Al-Khatib, the club’s president, following the first transgressed, insulted and slandered through the media.
Al-Ahly confirmed on his page that Muhammad Othman, the legal advisor to Al-Ahly, filed case No. 3435 of 2021, financial misdemeanours, which is restricted to No. 45 of 2022, economic misdemeanour, and Case No. 3514 of 2021 is financial misdemeanour, and is restricted to No. 83 of economic misdemeanours, and the court ruled, today, to imprison the accused for a year in each A case and a fine of 10,000 pounds… and a temporary compensation of 10,000 pounds to Mahmoud Al-Khatib.
The president of Zamalek indicated that an emergency session of his club’s board of directors was scheduled, but it was postponed until following the Eid al-Fitr holiday due to the absence of two members of the board, explaining that he is happy with the support of millions of Zamalek fans for him through social media.
