What is the Super Bowl?

The name Super Bowl originates from Lamar Huntby then owner of the Kansas City Chiefs. The NCAA finals were already called bowls and to place the NFL definition above them, the word was added super. The idea would have arisen from a ball that Hunt’s son played with, called super ball.
