However, according to studies, there are indeed seats that are safer than others in the event of an emergency; here are which ones.
According a TIME study who has observed plane crashes for 35 years, the seats in the back of the craft, particularly those in the middle row, cause the least fatality. The fatal rate is 28%, compared to 44% for the middle or front seats.
While a seat near the emergency exits allows for faster evacuation, it is not necessarily the safest option. These places located near the wings of the plane, these carrying gas, are therefore not without danger, reports CNN.
Travelers seated in the front will be the first to suffer a shock in the event of an accident. The middle seats in the back, away from the windows, allow for better protection from the others surrounding it.
