- The DSN is a tool that will bring together all your health data (medical history, prescriptions, test results, summary of meetings with social workers, etc.) in a single file that will be available throughout Quebec.
- The DSN will allow you to consult your medical file yourself whenever you want from a tablet, a mobile phone or a computer. The DSN will also be used to make your appointments and do your medical follow-ups.
- The DSN will facilitate the work of teams in the health and social services network by reducing paper and the bureaucratic burden. Staff will thus be able to spend more time with you. This change will help reduce the likelihood of errors and duplicate examinations and thus, to access data in real time.
The CIUSSS de la Mauricie-et-du-Centre-du-Québec will be one of the first two establishments in the health and social services network in Quebec to use this innovative technology in November 2025. The DSN will then be implemented in the rest of Quebec.

The DSN is a computer system that stores important information about the health of users. It is like a large electronic filing cabinet where healthcare staff keep notes on medical visits, medications, etc. The DSN must be protected so that no one can access the clinical information contained therein without authorization.
DSN data will be hosted in Canada by Epic, which complies with international security standards (ISO 27001, HITRUST, etc.) and has an operations center open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
