Over the past twenty years, more and more cases of resistance to anti-lice treatments have been reported. American and Korean researchers are clear: the nasty beasts have mutated to survive the most used insecticides… To combat these lice, which are ever more ferocious, we give you a (non-exhaustive) list of the best effective products against lice.
What is the best anti-lice product?
Although it is sometimes possible to eliminate lice naturally using aromatherapy, this solution does not work every time. So for effective extermination, we rely on anti-lice and nit products to apply to all members of the family, on the same day so that it is effective on both children and adults and to avoid the risk of lice surviving by jumping from head to head. For get rid of parasites effectively, parasitologist Catherine Combescot-Lang recommends carrying out a coating anti-lice treatment (Duo LP-Pro, approx. €11 or Pouxit XF lotion, approx. €10), and to reiterate it under 8 to 10 days, even if the product states “100% effective from the first use”. This is essential otherwise we take the risk that the nits that have survived become lice and perpetuate the black cycle… After letting the product act, we pass the fine comb on damp hair, going around the scalp, every day if necessary…

Anti-lice treatment throughout the house
Alongside treatment, it is important to treat the house to prevent lice from returning. For this, we take no risk:
wash household linen at 60°C, as lice will resist a lower temperature. we protect the rest: sofa, cushions, car seat… with plastic bags. Indeed, although there are many preconceived ideas about lice, it is true that they die after 48 hours outside a head.
If lice and nits are still hanging around, head to one of the 6 Bye Bye Nits centers, equipped with hot air diffusers that dehydrate nits and lice and vacuum them up once and for all. Results guaranteed for 10 days. €79 for approximately 90 min on short hair.
