Random memory or RAM is one of the most important factors that affect the performance of a smartphone, and if you want to buy an iPhone or – you already have it – it is very important to know the amount of RAM because Apple itself does not disclose this information.
We do not know exactly why Apple does not officially disclose the amount of RAM in the iPhone or iPad, as it does, for example, with Mac computers. The reason is most likely that the amount of RAM in iPhone phones is less than competing Android phones. The nature of the iOS system in the iPhone is fundamentally different from the Android system, and one of the differences is that the iOS system and its applications do not consume a lot of RAM compared to the Android system.
The latest versions of the iPhone currently come with 6 GB of random memory, while the size of the RAM in high-end Android phones sometimes reaches 12 GB.
Things are more complicated with regard to the final performance of the phone, for example, in 2019 we had an iPhone 11 Pro Max with a random memory of 4 GB only, though it managed to outperform the performance tests on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus with its 12 GB RAM!
