What is behind Zelensky’s dismissal of the influential Danilov (VIDEO)

The dismissal of NSDC Secretary Alexei Danilov occurred suddenly and without preconditions. It is radically different from the resignation, for example, of the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, which was discussed for several months.

One of the reasons for the resignation of Alexei Danilov may be the contradictions between him and the Office of the President. And the conflict with the Chinese diplomat became the “last straw.” Ukrainian political strategist Ruslan Rokhov spoke regarding this on Ranok.LIVE.

According to Rokhov, the conflict between Alexey Danilov and the Office of the President of Ukraine has been going on for some time. However, it was the incident with the Chinese diplomat that became the decisive factor.

“In the absence of a proper reaction, they prepared for a ‘note’ ​​in relation to Ukraine. They tried to understand whether this was the rhetoric of the state or just an individual,” Rokhov explained.

Thus, in general, the conflict between Alexey Danilov and the Office of the President of Ukraine was inevitable.

Danilov began his journey to the National Security and Defense Council as Deputy Secretary in July 2019, and then on October 3 of the same year he became Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine. Since October 25, 2019, he has also headed the National Cybersecurity Coordination Center.

In 2023, he was recognized as one of 15 leaders in the category “Public Administration” in the “List of Leaders of Ukraine UP-100” rating according to the publication “Ukrainian Pravda”.

On March 20, Alexey Danilov criticized Chinese Special Representative Li Hui regarding his proposals for negotiations with the Russian Federation. During the telethon, he said that Ukraine itself will decide its own fate and is not going to give up territories or lose its sovereignty.

This phrase was harsh, especially considering that right now $60 billion in military aid to Ukraine is “hanging up” in the US Congress. And it is unlikely that such a phrase would help Ukraine. It should be noted that this was said by an official.

Even more risky was the phrase thrown by Danilov to the Chinese diplomatic corps, namely, the special representative of the PRC government for Eurasian affairs, Li Hui. Danilov used the name of the Chinese representative in a bad way.

“I don’t understand who can take our territories, our lands and throw them away like that. Because some Hui, I’m sorry, last name whatever, or someone else (it seemed) that they should decide this. This will be decided by the people of Ukraine, led by the president…,” Danilov said.

Political and economic expert Aleksey Kushch notes the following: “A very correct and, most importantly, timely decision by President Vladimir Zelensky to dismiss Danilov. “Throwing kh..mi” in relation to the Chinese was an extremely reckless and harmful act of the said official, especially when both the President himself and the head of his Office are making every effort to involve China in our “peace formula.” Moreover, Xi Jinping’s peace formula has important points of intersection with it: the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. This is Zelensky’s decision that is lightning fast. It turned the negative disposition towards China into upward positive points of interaction. This will significantly improve the Ukrainian-Chinese dialogue: Beijing values ​​respect and does not forget insults.”

However, it is unlikely that Danilov’s resignation can now be considered as some kind of Bankova’s turn towards the Celestial Empire. By and large, this is a technical replacement, since the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, even at the dawn of the full-scale Russian invasion, lost any serious influence on political processes at the top. Since then, Mr. Danilov has performed mainly technical functions, which are precisely inherent in the secretary in the pure form of his service functionality. At the same time, as we noted above, Alexey Danilov remained a public figure, giving interviews and comments “on the topic of the day” from right to left.
