Legal action challenge

According to DIG Organized Crime Lahore, Imran Kishor, “The British government had pointed out Farhan Asif involved in spreading fake news and recommended action against him.”

According to FIA Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry, ‘Action is being taken against accused Farhan Asif under cyber terrorism.’

But according to Faisal Bajwa, a legal expert on cybercrime, ‘in our law, in the area where the crime is committed, the relevant agencies have the authority to take action. Because these incidents have taken place in the United Kingdom, action against the suspects involved in it can also be taken by their institutions under the law there. Under cybercrime, the accused can be arrested from Pakistan or from any other country on British recommendation, but the nature of trial in the courts here for effective legal action against him cannot be the same as in the area where the crime took place. ‘

He said that ‘Indeed, there has been an uproar in Britain due to his fake news and the Pakistanis living there were also made unsafe by this act. But the crime was committed in the UK, so they can ask for his extradition if they so desire. But we have to look at the international laws about this, whether there is any agreement to extradite the suspects from Pakistan to Britain? If not, then an arrest warrant can be taken, but it is a long process.’
