Our skin is full of natural oils and bacteria too, many of which are stripped away when we use soap, and we think that’s a good thing, but disrupting this ecosystem creates an imbalance in the oil balance, leaving skin dry following showering.
Scientists have long studied how our skin adapts to changes in its environment and what that means when it comes to our self-care, and in this report we show you the benefits of showering without soap, according to the “brightside” website.
1- Improved complexion:
Showering only with water will balance your skin’s protective layer, and while soap effectively removes dirt from your body, it also removes your skin’s natural oils.
2- You will not need deodorants:
While showering with soap will leave you smelling fresh in the short term, it also makes your skin more prone to bacteria, due to the harsh ingredients in soaps damaging the balance between skin oils and bacteria living on our skin, causing the skin to produce more oils and bacteria.
Plus, antibacterial soaps are particularly harmful because they kill the beneficial microbes as well as the bad ones.
3- Your skin is supple for longer:
While many of the ingredients in soap are meant to leave your skin clean and refreshed, they can do more harm than good, as they can damage your skin’s acid mantle, which in turn exacerbates many skin conditions, such as acne and dermatitis, and leads to Bathing in it will dry out your skin and cause wrinkles.
5- Increase the level of vitamin D in your body:
In addition to contributing to premature skin aging, soap causes vitamin D to be absorbed, as our skin converts the sun’s energy into this vitamin.
4- You will keep your reproductive organs healthy:
Bathing with soap regularly dries up the genital area. It is best to use warm water to wash your private parts, or use hot when you need to deodorize.
