More than half of Germans want to take a nap often, and in response to a survey question, “Would you like to take a nap?”, 18% answered “Yes very much” and 37% answered “Yes a lot”, while Another 15% said they ‘don’t want it at all’, and 26% said they ‘rather not want it’.

Napping is one of the things that many people resort to, in order to relax the body in the middle of the day.

Taking naps regularly in the middle of the day has many health benefits, mentioned by the “webmd” and “healthline” sites.

1. Improvement of cognition:

Taking a strong nap makes you feel more alert, and in turn, your brain should work more efficiently.

Research also shows that naps reduce the level of adenosine in the brain. Adenosine is a neurotransmitter that promotes sleep and plays a role in cognition.

2. Memory improvement:

A nap may enhance memory and also help you retain important information.

3. Boost immunity:

Regular naps may help your immune system. “Sleep deprivation increases the secretion of pro-inflammatory markers and causes immunodeficiency,” says Natasha Fuchina, M.D., certified internal medicine. Reducing levels of inflammatory cytokines and norepinephrine, a chemical that helps control immunity.

4. Mood improvement:

If you’re feeling down, try taking a nap to lift your spirits, as naps help improve your mood.

5. Naps are better than caffeine.

If you’re feeling tired but have work to get done, it may be better for you to take a nap than a coffee, and compared to caffeine, naps can improve memory and learning.

6. Relieve stress:

If you’re under a lot of stress, a nap can relieve stress and improve your immune health, and experts believe a 30-minute nap can do the trick.

7. Make you more creative:

REM naps can help you combine ideas in new ways to come up with answers.

8. Naps help you sleep better at night.

Although it may seem counterintuitive, taking a daytime nap can help older adults get better sleep at night, and studies show that taking a 30-minute nap between 1 pm and 3 pm along with moderate exercise, such as walking and stretching In the evening, it helps improve sleep at night, and mental and physical health can improve as well.
