She died of cancer, like her parents. Purebred Latvian. Hospitable hostess, kind and sympathetic person. The actress passed away at the age of 65 in 2009.

Irina Komarova (1944 – 2009)

Irina had no enemies, but best friends – even from the time of her studies at the Technological Institute, where she entered, having failed in the exams at the Theater.
She spoke brilliantly before the commission, but limped. Because a few months before the entrance tests, she seriously injured both legs, moving down the ice slide.
– I left the wand with which I walked outside the door, but the experienced eye of the teachers saw through me quickly. “Darling, we have both fencing and stage movement, how will you go through all this?” – they smiled and invited to return when the legs are in order, – shared Komarova.
Two years later, Irina returned, and, of course, she was accepted.
In LGITMiK, she met aspiring actor Sergei Komarov. Got married. In 1969, Irina’s mother, who has always been a support, died. The daughter of Komarova, who was born soon, was named after her.
– We often visited the grave of my grandmother. And for me it was a small family holiday. We took sandwiches, tea in a thermos, on the spot my mother told interesting and even funny family stories. And she said that she wanted to be buried nearby, – recalls Olga Sergeevna, who graduated from a pedagogical university. – For me, my mother was the most important person, my life shell from all adversity. And because of me, she lost many roles – I greatly spoiled her career in the BDT with my birth. My mother never reproached me for this. But at an early age I had serious health problems and she couldn’t work.
According to Olga, while her mother was absent from the theater, Svetlana Kryuchkova appeared there – an actress with a similar type – and began to get big roles that Komarova could play.
– When my mother returned, time was lost, – the heiress of the actress sighs. – But from this she was not considered less talented and bright. It’s so sad that shortly before her death, her mother had interesting entrepreneurial proposals, work in a theater studio brought her pleasure … But there was no chance to get out (for 18 years she struggled with the disease). In 2018, she was diagnosed with the fourth stage, metastases went to all internal organs. At parting in the theater, I was amazed at the number of people. They all walked and walked … And it was the height of the holidays. And I suddenly realized the scale of my mother’s personality. And she changed her attitude towards funerals. She began to walk on her own, which she usually did not do before. Those who come to say goodbye are what you have gained, an indicator of what kind of person you were and how you treated others.
Irina Komarova rested in the Northern Cemetery of St. Petersburg (Koltsevaya area, row 3, place 7).
