It’s cult. In 1993, the “Walker Texas Ranger” series hit the screens. For 9 seasons and 203 45-minute episodes (plus a TV movie, “Walker Texas Ranger: The Machination”, released in 2005), Dallas Ranger Cordell Walker (Chuck Norris), martial arts champion, and his partner James Trivette (Clarence Gilyard), former American footballer, caught the bad guys with kicks and punches.
Chuck Norris, l’invincible
If Chuck Norris, former karate champion, was already an action movie star, notably thanks to his role in “The Dragon’s Wrath” (1972) in which he faced Bruce Lee, the “Walker Texas Ranger” series made of him a true icon, an invincible (as well as a meme on the Internet). Since the end of the series, in 2001, we have simply seen him in “Expendables 2” (2012), with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham or even Jet Li, in a tailor-made role. Then, in 2017, the actor who backed Donald Trump’s campaign retired.
The other actors in the cast did not really shine following the end of “Walker Texas Rangers”. Clarence Gilyard, aka James Trivette, made a few appearances in film and television, before becoming a drama teacher. He finally died in November 2022, at the age of 66.
Sheree J. Wilson, who played Alexandra Cahill, was seen in the series “Pink” (2007) and in a Christmas movie (2013). Nia Peeples (Sydney Cooke) starred in “Pretty Little Liars” for 7 years… Find out what happened to the other “Walker Texas Rangers” cast members in our slideshow.
