A “fierce” confrontation took place between two groups of people this Friday evening. One of the victims was stabbed several times.

But what happened this Friday evening in the center of Mechelen, shortly following 10 p.m.? According to Het Nieuwsblad, a “fierce” confrontation broke out between two groups “of two to three people”.

Police spokesman Dirk Van de Sande explained that one victim “was slightly injured, a second was more seriously injured and stabbed”. She suffered injuries to her arm, back and leg.

Warned, the police quickly moved to the scene and arrested four people. An investigation is underway.
