Marielle Franco was murdered in Rio de Janeiro on March 14, 2018.

● 1877. At the age of 83, he dies Juan Manuel de Rosas, in the English city of Southampton. He was born in 1793 and represented the block of winning landowners. He came to the government of Buenos Aires in 1829. He ruled until 1832, following which he faced the Desert Campaign. He returned to the government in 1835. He imposed salting as the main economic activity and repressed his opponents through La Mazorca. He resisted the French blockade of 1838 and, seven years later, the Anglo-French blockade that led to the combat of the Vuelta de Obligado. In 1848 she ordered the execution of Camila O’Gorman, pregnant, and her lover, her priest, Ladislao Gutiérrez, with whom she had eloped. She perpetuated herself in power until the pronouncement of Justo José de Urquiza, Governor of Entre Ríos, led to the Battle of Caseros. Rosas’ defeat on February 3, 1852, led him into exile in England. His remains were repatriated in 1989.
● 1883. Karl Marx dies in London at the age of 64. The most influential thinker of the nineteenth century, whose work was projected into the next century, dissected the politics and economics of his time. Together with Friedrich Engels he published the Communist Manifestoin addition to other texts such as The Holy Family and the german ideology. By his account, he posted Louis Bonaparte’s Brumaire 18before undertaking his most ambitious work: Capital. The first of three volumes by him appeared in 1867. At the time of his death, he was working on a fourth volume.
● 1922. China Zorrilla is born in Montevideo. Concepción Matilde Zorrilla de San Martín Muñoz was a member of a traditional Uruguayan family. She is the daughter of an Argentine mother, her paternal grandfather was Juan Zorrilla de San Martín, the author of Tabare. She stood out in theater on both sides of the Río de la Plata and acted in cinema, in films like Realize, Waiting for the carriage, nobody’s lady, Last days of the victim, The fish, Kisses on the forehead and elsa and fred. He passed away in 2014.
● 1933. In London one of the most representative faces of cinema is born: Michael Caine. He rose to fame with Zuluand Alfie It earned him an Oscar nomination. In the 70s he was seen in movies like The footprint and The man who would be king. He won two Oscars as a supporting actor: for Hannah and her sisters and by the rules of life. Queen Elizabeth made him Sir in 2000 and he has one of the most prolific careers in the seventh art.
● 2018. Murder of Marielle Franco in Rio de Janeiro. The sociologist and feminist was 38 years old and since January 2017 she had held a council seat in the capital of Rio de Janeiro. She received four shots to the head. The driver of the car in which he was driving was killed with it. The shock crosses borders. Franco denounced the violence in the favelas and the actions of vigilante groups. The mobilizations demanding justice were massive. In August 2018, the participation of State agents in the crime was recognized.
● 2018. British physicist Stephen Hawking dies at 76. He had been bedridden since the 1960s due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis which, in addition to leaving him in a wheelchair, took away his speech, for which he used software to express himself.
