What happened last night? Is an Iranian attack on Israel imminent?

This confusion is due to the spread of rumors on Israeli and Arab news accounts on social media platforms, which stated:

The official website of Ben Gurion Airport Authority was down due to a cyber attack.

– Raising the alert level and canceling all flights arriving and departing to Israel due to real fear and reporting of a possible attack by Iran and its allies tonight/morning.

Al-Houthi: Tonight will be historic.

– Iranian state TV: The attack will begin within hours.

While the news and official statements indicate the opposite, research indicates that:

– Channel 12 Israel: A glitch caused the website of the Israel Airports Authority to crash due to the large number of Israelis entering to check their flights, and Ben Gurion Airport did not stop working.

– Lebanese Minister of Public Works Ali Hamieh: What is being circulated about the cancellation of flights from Beirut Airport is incorrect and what is being published is fake news.

After searching the Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah website and reviewing the latest tweets of the member of the Supreme Political Council in the Houthi movement, no mention was made of what was attributed to him.

While Turkish Airlines’ announcement that all its flights (tonight) to Iran have been cancelled is true, the company confirmed that its flights will be organised during the morning.

The decision of Turkish Airlines also includes stopping all flights tonight, to Jordan and Iraq as well, and postponing all flights to Iran, Iraq and Jordan until tomorrow.

These statements come after American and Israeli reports that Iran and its allies will attack Israel in response to the assassination of Haniyeh in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had stressed that avenging Ismail Haniyeh’s blood “is our duty because the assassination took place on our soil.”

“The criminal and terrorist Zionist regime targeted our dear guest in our home, and in doing so, it brought upon itself the most severe punishment,” he said in a message of condolence for the assassination of Haniyeh, published on Khamenei’s official website.

The New York Times reported on Wednesday evening, citing three informed Iranian officials, that Khamenei ordered a direct strike on Israel in response to the assassination of Haniyeh.

CNN reported, citing the US Department of Defense, that Iran and its allies will launch a large-scale attack on Israel within 72 hours (report on Thursday).

While Israel has not announced about adopting this assassination, and refused to comment on the incident publicly.، Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a speech on Wednesday evening that the Israeli army had dealt decisive blows in recent days to Palestinian causes, the Houthis and Lebanese factions.
