What gestures can we use to control Apple Vision Pro?

Just as you might interact with the iPod using the Click Wheelinteracts with the Apple Watch via Digital Crown and with iPhone/iPad with multi-touch, the Apple Vision Pro can be controlled in the most intuitive way possible: using hand gestures in conjunction with eye movements.

If you already have a headset β€” or are thinking regarding purchasing one β€” and don’t know exactly what all these available gestures are, we’ve separated everything that can be done to control it below.

Let’s go?! 😁

  • Touch your thumb to your index finger: To select options and open apps.
  • Touch β€œno ar”: to interact with certain elements of visionOS, such as typing on the virtual keyboard.
  • Pinch and hold gesture (keep touching your thumb and index finger once): to open more options of an app by pressing the β€œX”, how to close them.
  • Pinch gesture with both hands: to zoom in on a photo or a website, for example.
  • Pinch and drag gesture: to β€œgrab” an image, object or content and drag it wherever you want. You can also use this to move visionOS windows.
  • Slide: With your thumb and index finger together, scroll up or down to navigate between the content of a web page or a photo album, for example.

At first, like any new form of interaction, things can seem complicated. However, over time, you will get the hang of it! 😎
