SAN FRANCISCO — Joc Pederson homered three times and drove in a career-high eight runs. Brandon Crawford followed with a game-ending RBI single and the San Francisco Giants beat the New York Mets 13-12 Tuesday in a spirited game.
The Giants blew an 8-2 lead by allowing seven runs in the eighth and trailed 12-11 in the bottom of the ninth before rallying to end their five-game losing streak.
Pederson started the comeback with a pair of two-run homers off Chris Bassitt in the third and fifth. He following him added his third of the night, a three-run homer.
In the ninth, Pederson hit a single that drove in Mike Yastrzemski. Crawford, struck out three times earlier, followed with a single off Ewin Diaz (1-1), who drove in Darin Ruf to win the game.
The victory went to John Brebbia (2-0), while Diaz took the loss.
For the Mets, Dominican Starling Marte 6-3 with two runs scored and an RBI. Puerto Ricans Francisco Lindor 4-2 with two runs scored and 6 RBIs; Tomás Nido 3-1 with a run scored. Venezuelans Eduardo Escobar 5-4 with a run scored; Luis Guillorme 1-0 with a run scored.
For the Giants, the Venezuelans Thairo Estrada 4-2; Wilmer Flores 2-1. Mexican Luis González 5-3 with a run scored.
