Wednesday March 6: Presentation of the book by Areti Georgosopoulos entitled “Fortunately the sea takes them” and the subject of gender relations and the empowerment of women. Journalist Eleni Tserezole and the author will talk about the book. Community Center of the Municipality of Chalandrio, Solomou 10, time 18.00. Free entrance.
Friday March 8: Theatrical performance with the play “Success story of a loser woman” by the group “Buffoni”. It is a modular show, where the focus is on the woman but not alone. Men, whether together or apart, are there on the same journey, sometimes with laughter and sometimes with tears, on a path to knowledge. Youth Center (Antigoni & Danaidon), time 20.00. Free entrance. Performance Duration: 100′ with intermission.
Saturday March 9: Self-defense seminars (verbal and physical) The seminar is held free of charge by the women’s self-defense group of Andas Tsareas, in the dance hall of the Municipality of Chalandrio (Aristotelous 42), from 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Those interested in participating are invited to send a message to the email address [email protected]. First there will be a demonstration of practical self-defense (10.30 – 12.30). There will be a half-hour break followed by the verbal self-defense seminar (13.00 – 15.00), through which we learn our limits, what consent means and how we respond to violence without violence.
Attendees should wear comfortable clothing and, if possible, non-slip socks, and bring a pad, notebook, pen and magazines they are reading (which will be cut up to create a collage).
