Some people suffer from depression, which affects the body greatly, and thus causes some health complications that require consulting a specialist.
In the following report, the “Consulto” reviews what depression does to the body, according to WebMD.
1- Sleep disturbances
Depression can affect the body in general, including the mind as well, so sleep disturbances are a common symptom in people with depression, and these disorders may appear reversible and cause prolonged sleep.
2- chest pain
Studies have shown that chest pain can be considered one of the most prominent signs of a problem in the heart, lung, stomach or depression, so you should consult a specialist doctor to accurately determine the problem, and thus obtain the appropriate treatment.
In addition, depression may increase the risk of heart disease, as people who have had heart attacks are more likely to develop depression.
3- Feeling tired
Feeling tired is one of the complications that appear on a person when suffering from depression, which increases depression as a result of low energy, and the lack of normal life activities, so this sign should not be neglected and consult a specialist doctor as soon as you feel it.

4- Muscle pain
Depression significantly affects the muscles and joints, as the chances of developing pain are three times higher than the normal person, and this often occurs in the elderly, so depression must be controlled.
5- Digestive disorders
Usually the brain is closely connected to the digestive system, so people get severe stomach pain and nausea immediately following depression, and this may cause indigestion, diarrhea or constipation.
6- Headache
Many studies have proven that people with depression are more likely to suffer from migraines, so persistent headaches for long periods are considered a symptom of depression that must be eliminated before experiencing any other health complications.
