A march calling for a “democratization of justice” took place this Tuesday towards the Palace of Courts, in the city of Buenos Aires, promoted by trade union and social organizations, leaders, officials of the Judiciary and jurists.
The call was at 18 in Plaza Lavalle, in front of the building located in Talcahuano 550, and participated, among others, the co-secretary general of the CGT and deputy general secretary of the truckers’ union, Pablo Moyano; the head of the Central of Workers of Argentina (CTA), Hugo Yasky; the Minister of Territorial Development and Habitat, Jorge Ferraresi, and the comptroller of the Federal Intelligence Agency (AFI), Cristina Caamaño.
The social leader Luis D’Elia, and one of the organizers of the protest, the judge of the Oral Criminal Court 29, Juan María Ramos Padilla, also announced their presence.
The magistrate called the act so that the Power of attorney “becomes a justice service” and is not reduced to “protection of interests that are not those of Argentines.”
Human rights organizations such as Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo, Madres Línea Fundadora, HIJOS Capital and the Permanent Assembly for Human Rights (APDH) attended the call., among other entities.
The three main slogans of the act – which was also replicated, in parallel, in different parts of the country – were the repudiation of the performance of the Court and its members, the claim once morest impunity and the end of “lawfare” or the “judicial war “for political purposes.
The Frente Grande party announced its support “with expectations and hopes” for the mobilization at the Palace of Courts.

The deputy for the Front of All (FdT) Leandro Santoro affirmed that the highest court “it has to be accountable to society” and for this reason “it is legitimate for people to express themselves” in the mobilization.
On the other hand, leaders and referents of the opposition coalition of Together for Change (JxC) criticized the call and pointed out that it is an expression that carries a message of “institutional gravity” to the political scene.
For her part, the spokesperson for the Presidency, Gabriela Cerruti, clarified that the Government “does not take a position” regarding the mobilization.
“The Government does not take positions on the marches organized by the political sectors of society. The demonstrations are part of the right to express themselves of the different sectors of society and are not issues on which the Government has to give an opinion,” he stressed.
